Empuriabrava, Spain (26th until 28th of September 2008)

Folks, I did something totally crazy this weekend! I jumped out of an airplane! WOW!!! That costs me quite an effort!!
Two colleagues wanted to go to Spain over the weekend to do a tandem-skydive. They ask me if I wanna come with them. At the beginning I was a little bit skeptic and I didn't know if yes or no. But then I decided to go with them. I don't had to spring. But to be two days at the Spanish coast was a nice idea. Got home after work, packed some clothes and then the guys were already there. After two and a half hour we already were in Empuriabrava and had something to eat and a cocktail.
The whole time I thought about the idea if I should jump or not. Since a few years I am thinking about doing that. When will be the right time?! And the next possibility?! My decision was already made. Now or never! The emotional and moral preparation started. The guys did the same - the one less (it was his 3rd time) the other more (it was his first time). After a long breakfast we went with the car to the airfield. We were there about one hour before the appointment. There was enough time to have a look how the others start and land. It calmed me down really good. All who started came down and seemed to be very happy. Let's go to the registration point! There we had to do the formalities. And then I said goodbye to my family and to my boyfriend. We got a briefing (what we have to do) and suddenly our professionals were there to give us our safety-clothes. They packed us in it and then the airplane came. Sit down, fly to about 4000m height and smile! Then the door opened. I was the penultimate. Who wants to know how my flight was: I've got a DVD. And Pictures. The feeling you cannot describe! You jump into nothing. It's crazy, amazing and all together! It's like the time stops! After this moment there was only one way left: ENJOY! And suddenly it was over (sadly). My landing was not planned in that way I did it, but nothing bad happened. (It was planned that I land with my feet and not with my knees! But they are ok.) After that the first thing I had to do was to drink something, I never had such a dry mouth yet. (The next time I shouldn't open my mouth when I spring.)
Shaky I wrote messages to my family and my boyfriend that I landed and I am still alive. And then we went to the beach!!! (Vamos a la playa!) Get down the dose of adrenalin! The evening ended with good german meal and cocktails. What a day!
